Gov Yahaya Bello’s spokesman quits, picks reps nomination form
The Commissioner for Information and Communication of Kogi State, Mr Kingsley Fanwo has joined the race for Membership of House of Assembly as he picked his Expression of Interest and Nomination form for the seat of Yagba West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.
Speaking to newsmen after picking the form, Mr Fanwo explained that the people of Yagba West need to be represented and carried along to know their need and aspiration, adding that activities that has direct bearing on the people will be channeled towards them.
He stated that participatory representation at the Federal Constituency will solve issues at the grassroots, stressing that what he want to do is to redefine representation and ensure that Kogi people are better represented and would have a say in how they are represented.
“I am not saying the person there now is not doing anything, he has done some good things, but the reason why I’m stepping forward is because I can do it better.
“You cannot represent the people that you don’t relate with, you cannot represent the people that you don’t understand what problems they have, you can not represent the people that you don’t know where they want to be, so what we want to do is to redefine representation and ensure that our people are better represented, will have a say in how they are represented”.
“I have learnt from the best in terms of politics, in terms of administration, in terms of humanitarian service, I have learnt from the best and the best is Alhaji Yahaya Bello. You know when you look at what he has done in Kogi state, all of us are proud of his giant strides” he added.
Mr Fanwo who had earlier resigned his appointment from Governor Yahaya Bello’s government, appreciated him for the opportunity to learn under him, adding that if given the chance, he will do better as a lawmaker.
“This is a man that inherited a balkanized state. A state that was divided, a state that was disunited but he came and ensured unity in the state. And apart from that, our governor has been able to ensure security in the state.
“A state that was almost becoming a pariah state, a state that was the cesspit of kidnapping and criminalities, he has been able to put his foot down to ensure that our state today is one of the safest state in Nigeria.
“Also when you look at prosperity, with all of his program that touched on the welfare of the good people of Kogi state, you will agree with me that he’s the best thing to have happened to the people of Kogi state.
