To our Distinguished Invited Guests, we are profoundly greatful for honouring our invitation despite the short notice. May God bless you all.
“As you are all aware, from the First Quarter of last year up to this moment, life is yet to return to normalcy following the out break of the Coronavirus pandemic. Countries were forced to shut down economic activities in order to curtail the spread of the virus, this led to the loss of jobs and working capital for petty traders.
“Both the Federal and State Governments responded to this adverse economic impact through the distribution of palliatives to households, payroll support scheme and loans to entrepreneurs. Many individuals equally responded to the challenge through give aways using their social media platforms. Indeed! The challenges that come with the virus has helped in so many measures to reawaken the humanity in us.
“Azumi Welfare Foundation, which was founded in 2019 to assist the less privileged, in areas of Education, Entrepreneurship, Healthcare and Emergency disaster relief responded to the challenges of the moment by complementing the government’s efforts in the fight against the virus, through the distribution of over Three Thousand nosemasks to Students in Tertiary Institutions.
“The foundation equally awarded Scholarships to One Hundred and Eight (108) Students in Tertiary Institutions Studying Medicine, Engineering, Law, Information Technology and Management etc. The Scholarship Scheme covers Tuition fees, accommodation, Study materials and feeding allowance.
“Today, we will again support government efforts in enhancing the welfare of its citizens by flagging off the distribution of Five Thousand Naira (N5,000) only, to One Thousand Two Hundred (1,200) Persons, evenly selected from each of the Twelve (12) Electoral Wards that make up Chikun Local Government. We strongly believe that there are petty traders that were praying for a push like this, today is the answer to their prayers. We pray that God will bless this little seed that will be given to you.
“We are starting the distribution of Cash Relief Fund with Sabon Tasha, Kujama, Sabon Gari and Kakau Wards, in order to enable us observe the government mandated physical Distance. We shall fix a suitable dates for onward distribution to selected beneficiaries from the remaining Eight (8) wards.
“I want to use this opportunity to call others that are well to do in the society to continue to complement the government’s efforts in helping the needy in the society.
