We’ll expose corruption where it is existing -hon. Datti
HONOURABLE GARBA DATTI MOHAMMAD, MEMBER HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, CHAIRMAN AD-HOC COMMITTEE ON THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, INVESTIGATING THE STATE OF THE FOUR NATION’S REFINERIES, THEIR TURN AROUND MAINTENANCE, SPOKE WITH EAGLEEYESPOST ON THE STATE OF THE REFINERIES IN NIGERIA, HIS EFFORTS AT IMPROVING THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE HE IS REPRESENTING IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.
What is the main objective of the AD- Hoc Committee on the investigation of the four refineries and their turn around maintenance, TAM?
The Committee is interested in how money were withdrawn, particularly, the money they have been withdrawing for the Turn Around maintenance and they must have the information. That is why we said the two organization involved, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) should go back and give us more information on their involvement.
The President Muhammadu Buhari was needed to explain why the refineries are not working despite huge resources already invested in them.
Thepresident is the minister of Petroleum and we have written him to grant us audience which he has agreed.
It is a very serious, that affect the whole country and it is very, very shameful that Nigeria, as a nation and a member of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) cannot refine its products. All other countries, even non-oil countries have functioning refineries. Some will take our crude oil out to the neighboring countries, refined them and bring back to Nigeria. The information we have received so far show that it is only the PMS that is brought to Nigeria, not even all the bye products .
I am happy the way the President is fighting corruption and as a Parliament, our job is to help him expose corruption where ever it exists, because with the colossal amount that is being spent, from their submission, they have no course whatsoever, to go out of Nigeria to refine any of this products. This money can build a new refinery.
We want to have the data how money is being spent, the company that handle the maintenance, how they are being paid.
His numerous empowerment programs.

In his medical outreaches, hundreds of patients from across his Constituency were attended to with free diagnosis, treatment and free drugs. There were also surgeries, including cataract operations to among others to persons with medical challenges.
In a renewed effort at improving the standard of living in his constituency is evident as Hon. Momammad took stock of his achievement which among others includes the construction of 10 kilometer road, establishment of Health Care Center, installed and powered 28 transformers, distribution of over 100 tricycle (popularly known as Keke – NAPEP) in his constituency even as he promised to deliver pumper democratic dividends to his constituents.
