Adamawa lawmaker, Laori empowers constituents
Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B Laori, Monday empowered over 200 members of his constituency in Adamawa State
Hon. Laori who is epresenting Numan/Demsa/ Lamurde Federal Constituency, in what could be described as an elaborate event distributed of empowerment materials to more than 200 beneficiaries in Lamurde.
The event which attracted applauses and commendations, was seen as first of its kind, to be arranged by the lawmaker.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon Laori reminded the constituents that the gesture was part of his campaign promises in 2019 where he informed that he would engage in youth empowerment and infrastructural development.
This, he said would help in tackling security challenges in the area.
Laori further listed some of his achievements in the last two years to include the facilitation of youth employment into the public sector, training and financial support to all categories of persons, facilitation of acces to grants and loans to over 103 persons, Financial support for over 900 women who are traders, distribution of laptops to students, construction of an ultra modern Information Communication Technology (ICT) center, distribution of dry season farming inputs along with financial support, facilitation of COVID Rapid Response and N-Power benefits to over 200 constituents.

Laori mentioned stated that the distribution of the empowerment materials was done in view of the abundance of intelligent human capital in the area.
He advised that the materials should be put effective use in order to minimize poverty and unemployment.
He emphasized that the selection of beneficiaries was done according to individual applications and need assessment by stakeholders where at least one person was selected from the 102 Polling Units that make up the 10 wards in Lamurde.
Hon Laori informed the gathering that in keeping to his primary responsibility as a federal lawmaker, he has sponsored a good number of life impacting bills that are at various stages of legislation.
He thereafter urged the people to continue to support the PDP and the Government of Adamawa State under the able leadership of H E Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
The Hama Bachama, the paramount ruler of Bachama Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Dr. Daniel Ismail Shaga (OON), who was represented by the Kpana Rigangun applauded the gesture, stating that it will go a long way in alleviating poverty in the area.
The event which took place at the Chairman’s Lodge in Lamurde had in attendance top Government functionaries, politicians and personalities that included, Hon Dishi Khobe, Commissioner of Higher Education, Hon. Lami Ahmed- Commisioner women Affairs, Hon. Talatu Yohana- The Chairperson Transition Committee Lamurde LGA, Hon Bulus Daniel, The Wakili Lamurde, Village and Ward Heads, Reps of CAN and Muslim Council, Party Executives and a host of others.
The dignitaries took turns to appeal to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items given to them.
Guests were entertained to cultural dances from the Mwana and the Wajale dance troupes .
