Deputy Senate President tasks town planners on ICT
Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, urged the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC) to embrace Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to strengthen the town planning profession and contribute to national development.
He emphasized the importance of town planners adopting ICT to advance their field.
During the 36th induction ceremony of newly registered town planners in Abuja, Senator Barau’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Idris Abiola Ajimobi, represented him.
In his address, the Deputy Senate President highlighted that ICT is now an integral part of all industries and institutions in the country, bringing continuous innovation and value.
Senator Barau extended his congratulations to the newly inducted TOPREC members and encouraged them to represent their profession diligently.
TOPREC President, Isyaku Muhtar Kura, in his welcome speech, reminded the new inductees to uphold the TOPREC Act, code of conduct, and practice regulations while carrying out their duties as town planners
