Hajia Abubakar assures investors of enabling environment
The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Hajia Aisha Abubakar has assured investors of the federal government’s readiness to create enabling environment in order to attract investors.
She gave this assurance while receiving a delegation of Baba Dan Pullo Group of Companies in Abuja.
Hajia Abubakar further stated that investors need to be specific by giving detail information on the kind of support they are seeking from the government.
She also commended the team for their interest to invest in Nigeria stating that the Federal Government is doing everything possible to ensure that business in the country is as easy as possible.
She added that her Ministry is championing this cause in collaboration with other stakeholder to ensure that the challenge of unemployment is tackled through the provision of enabling environment for the private sector to strive.
She expressed happiness over the Baba Dan Pullo Group of Companies’ plan to invest in areas such as agriculture, telecommunications and aviation saying that attracting direct investment is in line with the diversification effort of the current administration.
The Leader of the group, Dr. Sah Christopher earlier in his address informed the Minister that the Baba Group of Companies owned by Alh. Ahmadu Dan Pullo, a Nigerian based in Cameroun has investment in Agriculture, Aviation, Telecommunications and Real Estate business in countries such as Switzerland, France, Canada, South Africa and Britain.
He added that their Agricultural investment in fresh fruits, tea and diary as well as wheat and cotton production and rearing of animals spreads through several African countries like Cameroun, Senegal, Mozambique, Benin and Togo.
He also informed the Minister of the plan of his organization to establish tea distribution centres, tea packaging companies and the development of tea estates (plantation) across the country at the first stage. These, he said will be subsequently followed by investment in the areas of diary production, cotton and wheat production, telecommunications and aviation.
Dr. Christopher therefore, sought the support of the Ministry in the provision of enabling environment to actualize the plans of his group.
