Secrets to longevity and lasting prosperity revealed
A former Supreme Court Justice, James Ogebe who recently celebrated his 80th birthday and 50th wedding anniversary to Dr Mary Ogebe has said the secret of longevity and lasting prosperity is helping people.
Ogebe who was speaking to Journalists and the management of “Future and Hope Scholarships Foundation in Abuja, also revealed that “secret of longevity is simply living in the fear of God, being grounded in the knowledge of God, using the word of God daily and making sure you have a happy home, environment and helping other people.

“I will give a living example, We were looking for a guard in our house and they brought a young man to our house. When we ask of his level of education he said Junior Secondary School (J.s.s), he further said he couldn’t finish school because there was no one to help him so my wife and I asked him if he will want to go to school. That was how we sent him back to school and he has bagged his Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), now We are planning to send him to seminary. So helping other people is part of the ways God lengthen our lives and when you are kind to people, God himself will show kindness to you”, he narrated.
Also speaking, Dr Mary Ogebe said, The Future and Hope Scholarship Foundation contributions will be in counselling the younger once, particularly those getting married and the people under our wings; that marriage was created by someone who wants it to be permanent, workable. And so you have to start and use the blueprint of God the creator of mankind; that’s following the Bible.
“Some key things in marriage are trust and forgiveness. When the love is there and you come under one canopy/roof, reality sets in and you have to be able to forgive and display that trust and you also have to be able to persevere. We were told that is why we were given the marriage certificate on the day you get married because its a college you have entered and you don’t graduate”, she stated.
Speaking further, she said the foundation will empower the less privilege which includes orphans and indigent persons. She opined that she and her husband enjoyed scholarship from the government and help from individuals, some of which they didn’t even know and that she intend to support the less privilege through the “Future and Hope Scholarship Foundation”.
“The projects of ‘Future and Hope Scholarship Foundation’ will be part of our contributions to the development of humanity as I have been advocating for the improvement of education and empowering the less privilege in the country”, adding that knowledge resides in education. she called on individual, private/public entities and even the government to support the less privilege in the society.
