Lockdown: Hon. Yakub distributes palliatives to reduce effect
The Honourable Member representing Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Yusuf Buba Yakub has donated another round of palliatives in his Constituency in order to reduce the effect of the lockdown on the people in Adamawa State.
Rt. Hon. Yakub, was speaking with the media over the weekend in Adamawa, during the presenting of the palliatives.
He also commended the people of his Constituency for standing with governments at all levels in their commitment to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus in Adamawa State.
He stated that his renewed efforts were geared towards cushioning the effects of the forced lockdown occasioned by the New Coronavirus pandemic on the people.
The lawmaker, who was represented by the State Chairman, _Hon.Yusuf Captain Buba Coronavirus Trust Fund and former Chairman of Hong Local Government Area, Hon. Ibrahim Gayus, stressed the importance of ensuring that the entire palliatives trickle down to all the political strata and socio- religious groupings in the Constituency.
To this effect, he announced the setting- up of a Committee that would oversee the equitable distribution of the items provided.
The members of the Committee which has Rt. Hon. Buba’s former Campaign Directors-General at the LGAs, Hon. Semete Helma and Alhaji Adamu Kwacha were drawn from Hong LGA and Gombi LGA.
Others are Chairmen of the Christian Association of NigerIan( CAN) and the Chairmen of the Muslim Council of Nigeria in the LGAs.
“These were also joined by the APC Local Government Chairmen at the LGAs and a replication of the Local Government Area composition at each of the 22 Wards of Gombi/ Hong Federal Constituency”, he stated.
Items donated on the occasion were bags of rice, millet, maize, sugar and other home consumables, including medicated soaps, all of which were handed over for distribution.
In a message of appreciation on behalf of the people, Vice Chairman of the APC in Adamawa State, Hon. Samaila Tadawus, State Organising Secretary of the Party, Hon. Ahmed Lawal, commended Hon. Buba’ s selflessness services to his Constituents.
He said the Gombi/ Hong Rep is a hero of many hearts, whose belief in empowering the people is founded on the truism and personal belief that people are at the centre of every political representation.
