Nigeria’s Defence Minister Badaru touches down in Bamako for maiden BAMEX 2025
Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, H.E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, has arrived in Bamako, Mali, to participate in the inaugural Bamako International Defence and Security Exhibition (BAMEX 2025).
This was contained in a statement by Mati Ali, PA (Media & Publicity) to the Minister on Thursday.
The Minister was received at the Military Wing of Bamako International Airport by Mali’s Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, General Sadio Camara, accompanied by senior officials of the Malian Armed Forces.
The welcoming ceremony featured a vibrant parade in honour of the Nigerian defence chief, underscoring the warm diplomatic ties between the two West African nations.
Following the reception, Minister Badaru and General Camara held a strategic bilateral meeting aimed at strengthening defence cooperation and enhancing collaboration on regional peace and security initiatives. The discussions highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts in addressing contemporary security threats and promoting stability across the West African region.
BAMEX 2025, now in its maiden edition, provides a platform for African nations and global partners to showcase innovations in defence technology, engage in dialogue, and forge partnerships to tackle evolving security challenges on the continent.
The event is expected to attract defence policymakers, military leaders, and technology innovators from across Africa and beyond.
