Sen. Na’allah commiserates with families of victims of the ill fated NAF Aircraft
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Airforce, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah representing Kebbi South has commiserated with the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Oladayo Amao, the families of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel who lost their lives in an air crash involving a NAF Beechcraft King Air B350i in Abuja last Sunday.
The Senator who made this known in an interview with EAGLE EYES POST in Abuja on Tuesday described the incident as sad and unfortunate.
He called for an investigation into the course of the crash. incident and report back before an
Senator Na’Allah was of the opinion that the it is a sad thing that the incident happened, adding that after the investigation the course of the incident would be known.
The Lawmaker also called for more training of the air crew to prevent future occurrences such incident.
According to him, the more NAF trained crew, the less the country are likely to have accidents involving the aircrafts.
“We are not unaware of the fact that just two days ago we had a very unfortunate accident involving NAF Aircraft 350 with seven person’s onboard who we were told that none survived.
“Incidentally they’re personally known to me.We have met several times and we have flown together. One of them is classmate to my daughter.
T”went to flying school together. It is really a very painful death to me and I felt I should cease these opportunity to condole the family of the diseased and in particular the Nigerian Air Force as an institution and the country at large.
T”were on a very important national assignment. Dying in service is the greatest sacrifice you can make to your Nation.
“There is no service that is as important as protecting the territorial integrity of your Nation, in whatever form. Constitutionally we know that it is the responsibility of the armed forces.
I”is really a sad incident and I convey my condolences officially to the government and the people of Nigeria. Specifically, to the families of the diseased.
“On how to prevent further occurrences of such incidence, he said as a professional I am banned from talking about any accident involving plane because we seriously believe in the constitution, to investigate the course of the incident and report back before anybody can make comments.
“It is a sad thing that this incident happened, after the investigation the course of the incident will be known
“More training of the crew will also prevent future occurrences such incident. The more we trained our crew the less we are likely to have accidents involving the aircrafts” he stressed..
