We’re ready to defend any query -AGF

The saying that goes, ‘if you don’t have anything to hide, you don’t have anything to fear’ was deduced from the response of the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris at the House of Representatives Committee on Public Account to defend a query against him and other agencies.
AGF was speaking with Newsmen shortly after the meeting on Wednesday in Abuja, stating that he is ready to comply with the directives of the lawmakers by making available all the required documents and information.
In his words: “The lawmakers are only carrying out their oversight legislative functions as enshrined in the constitution and is satisfying to make ourselves available in order to ensure that they succeed in their oversight responsibilities”.
Chairman, Committee on Public Account (PAC), Wole Oke (PDP – Osun) invited Accountant General of the Federation, Auditor General of the Federation and other agencies to defend the queries raised by the Auditor General of the Federation.
Idris was also invited defend the amount spent on COVID-19 pandemic response before an investigative hearing.
