Abbas appoints Hon.Ukpong-Udo and four others as standing committee chairmen
In order to fill the vacancies created in the chairmen of some standing committees of the House of Representative due to the appointment of some hounarable members as ministers by the Tinubu administration.
The speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt.Hon. Tajudeen Abbas on Thursday announced the recomposition (chairmen) of some standing committee as follows:
- Hon. Mamudu Abdullahi – (APC, Niger) – Chairman, House Committee on Army
- Hon. Pascal Agbodike – (APGA, Anambra) – Chairman, House Committee on Hydrological Services
- Hon. Dennis Idahosa (APC, Edo) – Chairman, House Committee on Healthcare Services
- Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo (YPP, Akwa Ibom) – Chairman, House Committee on Electronic and Digital Banking
- Hon. Bukar Talba (APC, Borno) – Chairman, House Committee on Institutional Reforms.
According to Speaker Abbas, all the appointments are with immediate affect, while the House legislative records shall be adjusted accordingly to tally with the new entry on resumption from recess.
