Isah Jibrin re-elected as Senator for Kogi East

Incumbent Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho representing Kogi East Senatorial district and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the February 25 senatorial election.

He defeated Dr Victor Adoji of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The lawmaker was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Declaring results, the INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Musa Adeku Ibrahim said, Echocho garnered 108,784 votes being the highest against his closest contender, Victor Adoji of the Peoples Democratic Party who scored 81,867 and the Labour Party Senatorial district candidate scored 18880.
