South-East Governors Appoint Nkemdirim Secretary, Security Committee
Arising from the recent inauguration of the Joint-Security Committee by governors of the South-East states of Nigeria, held in Enugu, the Special Adviser (SA) on Security to Imo State Governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Mr.Raymond Nkemdirim has been appointed Secretary of the Security Committee.
A communique issued at the end of the inauguration of members of the committee by the governors of Abia,Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo and Anambra States, which was made available by the Senior Security-Aide to Gov.Ihedioha, informed that the Security-Committee has Maj. Gen. Abel Obi Umeahi (Rtd) as chairman.
The communique further informed that, members of the committee include, Capt. Awa Agwu(Rtd), IGP Ogbonna Onovo (Rtd), CP Ikechukwu Aduba (Rtd), Mr.Raymond Nkemdirim (former Director of Operations, DSSS) as secretary of the Joint-Security Committee.
Nkemdirim is an experienced security intelligence administrator, who served the Nigerian nation for 35 years in the State Security Service, having attained the peak of his career, and retiring meritoriously as Director (Operations), National Headquarters.
He holds an LLB from the University of Abuja, and B.sc. in Sociology from the Imo State University (now,Abia State University), Uturu.
His professional certificates include, a certificate in Policy, Strategy and Leadership course from the National Institute For Policy And Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Jos, Fellow of the Security Studies (fsi) from the Institute for Security Studies, Abuja, and alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School, Boston, USA, where he bagged a certificate in National and International Security Studies.
Nkemdirim was conferred with the award of ‘Member of the Order of the Federal Republic’, MFR, by the former president of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
