Mutfwang commends Tinubu for improved security in Plateau State
Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has expressed his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the significant strides made in improving security across Plateau State and Nigeria at large. This commendation was conveyed during a courtesy visit by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, to the state.
Represented by his deputy, Mrs. Josephine Ngo Piyo, Governor Mutfwang highlighted the President’s commitment to restoring peace in Plateau State. “We acknowledge the efforts of the Federal Government, and we will continue to support its initiatives.
We remain committed to working with local government areas, traditional rulers, and other key stakeholders to ensure lasting peace,” Mrs. Piyo stated.
During the visit, the Defence Minister emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to improve security, noting that the purpose of his visit was to engage with military personnel, local authorities, and traditional rulers in the state.
He added that interactive sessions with these groups were crucial in addressing the security challenges facing the region.
As part of his itinerary, the Defence Minister also paid a visit to the Gbong Gwom Jos, represented by the Emir of Wase, Alhaji Dr. Sambo Haruna.
The traditional ruler lauded the military’s efforts in restoring peace, emphasizing the ongoing cooperation between security agencies and local communities.
“We have worked closely with all security agencies to achieve relative peace in our communities,” he said.
The Minister reaffirmed the government’s dedication to tackling the security issues in Plateau State, assuring that the Federal Government would continue working hand-in-hand with the state government and traditional institutions to develop long-term solutions.
The visit underscores the ongoing commitment by both the Federal and State governments to address security challenges and foster peace in Plateau State.
